Katie & Matt’s Beautiful Wedding Filled with Meaningful Moments

Tucked away in the Raleigh countryside, nestled in within rows of flowers, awaits a classic venue for couples drawn to weddings filled with intimacy and connection. The flower farm carries sense of hometown charm that blends effortlessly with meaningful weddings. The quiet space centered around natural florals as far as the eye can see offers a one-of-a-kind experience for the Raleigh area. Katie and Matt’s beautiful summer wedding at Terra Blooms Farm was the perfect blend of hometown comfort, faith, and classic summer North Carolina weddings. What stood out the most on their wedding day was their love for each other while honoring the ones who have supported them throughout their lives.

I met Katie and Matt in early 2026 as they were finalizing their wedding details. From our first conversations, I could tell they were very special people who had a deep love for each other, their family, and had a deep respect for their faith. Katie’s giggly personality was such a gem to see as she lit up talking about their wedding plans. Originally from Minnesota, Katie moved to North Carolina shortly after Covid and fell head over heels for Matt and his son Roderick when the rest of the world took a pause. Matt being a Clayton native, wanted a celebration that felt like home and like themselves. For me personally, their wedding reminded me why I wanted to serve couples in a way that fits who they are. I am grateful that they chose me to be their photographer for their beautiful wedding rooted in themselves.

Katie & Matt’s Wedding Ceremony at Terra Blooms Farm

Our morning started early at Katie’s church near North Hills of Raleigh. Upon arrival, I was greeted with vast greenery and sweet florals lining the church parking lot. The morning spring sun seemed to greet the massive sanctuary as I drove in. Inside, soft music played as the church prepared for the festivities. I remember thinking how welcoming the space felt. I met Katie and her girls in the getting ready suite after a massive bus helped shuttle them in. Katie ensured her step-son Roderick had help getting ready before slipping into her gown. I still remember the sweet laughter her mom had as Katie shared a first look with her dad before the morning wrapped up.

Meanwhile, across the way in the groomsuite, Matt and his groomsmen enjoyed the morning. I could tell they were such a fun crowd as Matt’s eyes lit up every time they all cracked jokes alongside him throughout the morning. Their grey tuxes looked dashing with the pops of purple against the warm brick of the sanctuary. Matt’s mom, a florist herself, ensured his bountineere was just right before seeing Katie for the first time.

Next, we made our way to the peaceful ceremony space for a private mass. Guests were grinning ear-to-ear as Roderick delivered their rings safely with his “Ring Security” lock box. Married in faith, they shared vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. Following the ceremony, glowing portraits were taken a beautiful green garden at the church before making a special pit stop along the way for Matt’s favorite game of pool. It was the perfect way to end the morning.

Katie & Matt’s Wedding Reception at Terra Blooms Farm

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed tasty appetizers, cocktails, and games as the afternoon began. After a grand entrance to the reception, and heartfelt speeches, dinner was served. Afterwards, cake, deserts, and coloring books were for the littles were enjoyed for a late night fun. The DJ had everyone on the dance floor all night as the party was on full force. As the night wound down, Katie and Matt shared a final dance before a final send off by family and friends. It was a wedding I will never forget and grateful to have been a part of it.
