Meaningful Places & New Beginnings for Amanda and Kyle

Some places are beautiful because of what they look like. Others become meaningful because of the memories we already carry with us. For Amanda and Kyle, Duke Gardens was one of those places. The gardens held a special connection to Amanda and her family, making it the obvious choice for this season of their story together. On a warm summer afternoon surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant color, and pops of yellow (Amanda’s favorite color), the two of them spent time simply enjoying being together. A type of familiarity made the session feel easy, joyful, and deeply personal.

I love when an engagement session can be more than beautiful photographs. Choosing a place that already holds a piece of your story gives the images another layer of meaning, turning an afternoon together into something you’ll be able to return to long after this season has passed. Summer Light & Meaningful Moments in Amanda & Kyle’s Duke Gardens Engagement Photos

Amanda and Kyle’s story began how most modern love stories do today. But their relationship has been built through years of getting to know one another, growing together, and creating a life they love with puppies in tow. And Duke Gardens has been part of that story from the beginning. With a special connection to the gardens through Amanda’s family, it was already a meaningful place. But it became even more significant when Kyle popped the question as well there. So when they chose Duke Gardens for their engagement photos, they weren’t simply choosing a beautiful setting. They were returning to a place that already held pieces of their story. I cannot wait for their wedding next year at The Meadows at Firefly Farm. Enjoy some of my favorite portraits from their session below.
