Jenny + Daniel | An Atlantic Beach Wedding

At every wedding, I see all kinds of traditions and special moments that make each wedding special for the couple. Every wedding I have had the honor to be part of has been special, but every now and then, I am welcomed on a wedding day that leaves a lifelong impression, and that is most definitely what I experienced during Jenny and Daniel’s wedding day. Jenny and Daniel’s wedding day was filled with oceanside views, God’s Grace, and endless dancing from the ceremony to their sparkler exit. This Atlantic beach wedding was one for the books, and one that is dear to my heart!

From the moment I arrived at their venue, The Cottage, I was greeted with techno gospel music and warm smiles from family and guests. I watched as their family helped prepare for the beachside ceremony, but also through prayer, guidance, and support. After a few early morning mimosas, Jenny and Daniel finished getting ready and shared a first touch and personal prayer. Near the edge of the property and away from friends and their wedding party, they shared an intimate moment exchanging gifts they selected for each other. After several rounds of laughter, and even more tears, they joined hands across the wall for a special prayer blessing their ceremony and the start of their life together as a married couple.

As they walked down the aisle lined with seashells and coastal flowers, live gospel music filled the air as their friends and family joined in with a live band next to the waves. They concluded their wedding ceremony with a special dance that had me doubled over in laughter, followed by a small dance party with their wedding party. I have seen some cute choreographed wedding dances in my day, but I have never had a wedding couple surprise guests with a ceremony dance!

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed small plates and a raw oyster bar. For their reception, Jenny and Daniel shared a first dance together and cut the cake. Next, Jenny shared a father-daughter dance with her dad to polka music wearing matching bright blue polka dance shoes, as it was a tradition he taught her growing up. Daniel and his mom shared a fast-paced swing-style dance, where the grand finale was Daniel dipping his mom on the dance floor. Later in the evening, a garter toss was thrown to all the single boys on the dance floor. The final surprise was a flash mob that erupted on the dance floor, orchestrated by Jenny’s brother. I have seen lots of special moments as a Raleigh-based wedding photographer, but never a flash mob. It will go down as one of the best wedding moments I have experienced, and a memory I will truly never forget!!

Jenny and Daniel’s entire wedding day was nothing short of perfect. Their love of family, the Lord, and each other was beautiful. The private beachfront property set the stage for the perfect mix of coastal ambiance and elegant wedding day luxury.
