A Spring-Inspired Wedding Celebration at The Corner of Wake Forest

Originally constructed in 1893 by a Wake Forest College medical student, the Powers-Dodd House served as a medical office and general store for Wake Forest residents. After three decades, The Corner of Wake Forest is a historic wedding and event venue for couples around Raleigh. When I was asked to partake in this amazing Wake Forest wedding photography event, I could not wait. What a blast it was to work with other Wake Forest wedding vendors for the upcoming season.

I arrived to the comforting feeling of antique wood, which gave a slight creak as I walked around. Being part of decades-long history in a new way for the community felt powerful. Alia and Lance prepared in their respective suites while a sea of all-white flowers and warm candles were arranged around the room. After finishing hair and makeup, they quietly exchanged vows in the main room. Afterwards, we then took portraits in the manicured courtyard as the first signs of spring whispered in the wind. In spite of the rain, we made time for several outdoor portraits. Finally, Alia and Lance enjoyed decadent cake and refreshments. What a perfect afternoon!
