The Finch House is a staple historic home within the Thomasville area. Formerly owned by one of the largest furniture manufacturers of the early 1900’s of the area, former Thomasville mayor, and advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the rich history behind The Finch House is deeply rooted within the economic development of the Triangle. Today, the manor home serves couples entering the next chapter of their lives. Blending just the right amount of southern charm with timeless elegance, it is certainly a beautiful venue for couple’s wanting to add character to their wedding day. Located just minutes from downtown Thomasville, the elegant 7,000-square-foot mansion is filled with historical charm, modern amenities, and relaxing wedding days. And it was the absolute perfect location for Casey & Matt’s classic black and white wedding day!

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a beautiful bright greenery all around us climbing up the manor walls. Tucked away from the Thomasville bustling streets, vivid green vines, exquisite landscaping, and the quiet summer buzz surrounded us from all sides in our own private estate. The sweet smell of an early morning quick summer rain filled the air. I remember thinking how quiet it felt as our morning began. I met Casey and her bridal party as they were having fun with hair and makeup in the bridal suite on the top floor. The original 1920’s manor wood floors softly creaked as the women finished up with getting ready. Pure magic unfolded as Casey slipped into her gorgeous wedding gown.
Meanwhile, located in the groomsuite down the hallway, Matt and his crew enjoyed a slow morning hanging out and watching tv. Next, special gifts were exchanged before kicking off the main events. Afterwards, Casey and Matt shared a first look, and spent some intentional time with their family before the ceremony. It was the perfect start to a really fun wedding day.
As the morning concluded, we made our way down to the beautiful ceremony space behind the mansion. Laced with vibrant greenery, romantic white roses, and pops of black accents, Casey made her way down the aisle to Matt. Vibrant summer trees surrounded their closest friends and family as they exchanged vows before heading to cocktail hour and reception. It was important for both Casey and Matt to share intentional time during the cocktail hour before the reception began with their guests. Matt, being an avid golfer, ensured to include elements of their golf life into the reception for guests to enjoy.

Following cocktail hour, Casey and Matt entered their reception with a t-shirt cannon! The massive all white reception tent was glowing as the summer sun began to set. Casey floated across the dance floor with her father, and Matt held his mother tight as she wept as he guided her in their special song together. As the night concluded, guests enjoyed the dance floor, enjoyed live music, and yummy desserts. I am beyond grateful to have been a part of their wedding day.
