Brigitte and Christopher’s spring Sycamore Bend engagement session was the perfect mix of classic Southern history in a playful modern garden near the beaches of Wilmington. Their carefree personalities were a joy to watch as they shared sweet moments throughout the afternoon and moments of knee-buckling laughter as Christopher made light of their obvious height difference! And as someone who is not quite five feet tall herself, it made me laugh deeply as well!
Both Brigitte and Christopher are Wilmington natives and avid lovers of the water, it was important to Brigitte and Christopher to keep their engagement close to home but pivot from a traditional coastal engagement. While I am an absolute sucker for the ocean any day of the week, it never ceases to amaze me all the wonderful places the Wilmington area has to offer outside of the beach for engagements photos.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather during our late afternoon engagement session at Sycamore Bend. Once we arrived, we explored the property from the historic home to the pastures of horses. Azaleas were in full bloom overlooking two beautiful white horses as the sounds of spring swept the property.
As a Wilmington-based wedding photographer, it is important to me for my couples to have the opportunity to explore many different ways to enjoy their engagement season. I don’t think we could have spent the remainder of the afternoon with a better companion than with these sweet horses.
