Rooted in history & historical elegance, Guildford Farm is the perfect picturesque destination venue for weddings in Central Virginia. Built in the late 1790’s, and remodeled to fit present-day couples, Guildford Farm blends the perfect balance of historical charm with modern experiences for couples planning their wedding. Surrounded by stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Manor home was the perfect setting for Ana & Andrew’s bright and colorful summer wedding day. And I was honored to be able to be a part of it.
Early on warm summer morning, we greeted Ana as she was finishing her hair and makeup in the bridal suite The Manor House. The late 1700’s original wood floors creaked under the hustle and bustle of the morning. Located on in the groomsuite, Andrew and his crew enjoyed pre-season football highlights throughout the morning. As the morning progressed, I remember thinking about all the families Guildford Farm has blessed since its inception, and how warming it felt to be a part of its modern chapter under the most beautiful mountains in the South East. As Ana’s mom laced up her wedding gown, time seemed to stand still. Next, Ana enjoyed a special moment with her father as they exchanged gifts and shared a first look with each other.
As the morning concluded, Andrew set eyes on Ana as she entered the ceremony with her father. The rich green glow of the mountains surrounded us as they said their vows with their closest friends and family. Afterwards, as the summer sun began to set behind the mountainside, we explored the grounds for their portraits. The calming sounds of summer crickets echoed all around us as we spent time overlooking the ridge. During tear jerking toasts, Ana & Andrew smiled and laughed as dinner began. Following dinner, everyone hit the dance floor where the celebration continued. It was a special night for all, and I am glad to have been a part of it!
Originally built in the late 1700’s, Guildford Farm served as a family home. Fully restored, today it accommodates up to 9 beds, 5 full bathrooms, and 13 original fireplaces. Even with its modern amenities, the historical preservation still holds true in every aspect of the venue from pine heart wood floors, hand carved mantels, and original woodworking.
In addition to The Manor Home, the farm amplifies the natural beauty surrounding your wedding day. From vivid wildflowers in spring and summer, to rich greenery in the heart of summer, to the iconic fall colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Guildford Farm offers natural aesthetics year round for every wedding day.
