What is a better way to start the new year than getting engaged?! A few days before the new year, Owusu popped the ever-so-important question to Jatyra before returning home after the holidays. I can’t wait for you to read about their surprise Clayton engagement below.

A Surprise Clayton Engagement | A New Chapter Near Home

Being Raleigh area natives, Jatyra & Owusu were home for the holidays, visiting family and friends from Greensboro. Owusu knew he wanted to make it official before the ringing of the New Year while their families were together.

After some light planning with Owusu, I arrived at a local park and hid in bushes overlooking the water wrapping around the Greenway. As Owusu led Jaytra to the water and got down on one knee as the early afternoon sun shifted. After their private moment, I formally introduced myself to Jaytra, who had no idea Owusu hired a photographer to capture the surprise! After a few laughs (and some tears of excitement), we spent some time around the park for portraits before the rain set in. It was a pleasure to be a part of the start of their new chapter together.
