As a wedding photographer, all weddings hold a warm place in my heart. But Alex and Hunter’s Prestonwood Country Club wedding was so very special to me and pure joy to be part of. I met Alex and Hunter at a summer bridal show in Raleigh. Right from the moment I met them, I knew they were special souls, had a lot of love for each other, and were excited to plan their wedding over the next year. Shortly before their wedding, we met at a local coffee shop in downtown Raleigh. They told me stories about their wedding party, family, final details of their wedding, and enjoyed a few laughs over nerdy science things that Hunter and I shared a passion for. I could see the gleam in Alex’s eyes as she discussed her color scheme of greens and whites against the early fall colors as we discussed the final details over a unique pour over coffee. Once the big day arrived, it was nothing short of amazing and beautiful. It was certainly one for the books!
The morning of their big day, I met Alex and Hunter at their hotel near Prestonwood Country Club. I secretly believed the getting ready location was picked because of the Panera nearby for everyone to enjoy early that morning haha!! Bagels and coffee added a nice getting-ready treat for everyone, including their sweet three flower girls. Alex and her bridesmaids enjoyed the morning getting hair and makeup done with family, while Hunter and his groomsmen spent time together a few floors up.
As the morning began to wrap up, Hunter and his crew were shuttled away in a private party bus to ensure no accidental peaks before the ceremony. It was a joy to get to know each of his groomsmen, witness their playful nature, and enjoy a hysterical beard wax moment as the men dealt with the final aspects of their getting-ready routine.
After the men were safely tucked away for the wedding ceremony, Alex shared a moment with her mom as she stepped into her wedding dress for the first time. The world slowed down in the room as her long glittery veil was added to her gorgeous red hair. Next, family and friends assisted with a few final touches before heading off to the ceremony via a private limo.
Alex and Hunter’s ceremony was wrapped in Grace at Genesis United Methodist Church. Friends and family flooded the sanctuary. Warm fall flowers filled the aisles and gospel music rang across the church as the pianist played hymns for family to join. Their ceremony was completed by joining as one, lighting the Unity Candle, thanking each guest for their love and support in their receiving line, and finally a special bubble grand exit. As the ceremony concluded, the wedding party took a private bus to the Prestonwood Country Club for their reception.
The evening concluded with several toasts from friends and family, delectable food, and desserts for guests. After Alex shared a father-daughter dance and Hunter a special moment with his mom, the dance floor was filled with guests ready to celebrate the occasion.
It was a special night for all, and I was honored to be able to capture it all as their wedding photographer.
