A Warm Winter Wedding in the Lowcountry
Located a short drive from Beaufort, along the intercoastal waterways of the Lowcountry of South Carolina, lies one of the best Savannah destination wedding venues. Dating back to the 1790s, and on the National Register of Historic Places, Agapae Oaks is a family-owned marsh-front 150 acre property full of live oaks, pecan orchards, ponds, and Spanish moss trees perfect for year-round Savannah destination wedding events.
Just days after the New Year rang in, on a 70-degree winter day, I had the honor of being a part of the East Coast wedding photography team. As I arrived early in the morning, I was greeted with a long oak-lined driveway leading to aged pecan orchards and freshwater ponds. We met the bridal party, and two special puppies of honor, while they were getting their hair and makeup completed in the Main House. The groomsmen spent time in guest suite across the property. After getting ready, the bride enjoyed a First Look with her dad before the ceremony.
Gathered by faith, the ceremony was held under live Oak trees that towered over the grounds. Their family and friends joined in prayer while their family preacher joined the two in marriage. And of course, their two special fur babies joined in the celebrations.
After a blissful wedding ceremony, we utilized the massive property for stunning outdoor photography options overlooking the intercoastal waterways, and under a beautiful canopy of Spanish moss trees that lined the entrance. The night ended with soul food, countless rowdy toasts, dancing, and a grand sparkler exit. You couldn’t have asked for a better Savannah destination wedding, and it was a blessing to witness such a remarkable event.
