The Angus Barn is one of the most iconic restaurants in the Raleigh area, serving in-house aged steaks, has an award winning wine cellar, and famous Wild Turkey lounge. Ever since the 1960’s, the Angus Barn has provided a fine dining experience for the Triangle, and provides one of the most upscale wedding and event location in the Raleigh area. When I was asked to join the photography team as a second shooter for Maddison and Bennett’s wedding at the Pavilion at the Angus Barn, I was ecstatic.
Maddison and Bennett spent the morning at a private AirBnb near the Angus Barn with their wedding party where hair and makeup helped the bridal party get ready. They arrived at the venue via a private shuttle bus for a grand entrance and exit for the day. Maddie and her sister, the Maid of Honor, spent time together walking the venue and checking out the gorgeous decorations, and the enjoyed their hard work over the past year. Bennett spent time with his groomsmen, and Woman of Honor, his sister.
Maddison’s dress was from a speciality store in New York City. They drove together while planning the wedding to find the perfect dress. No one except Maddison’s mom had seen her dress before their wedding day, and was the only person who knew how to tie her delicate dress together with crochet sticks. Maddison had a First Look with not only Bennett, and her dad, but also with her bridesmaids.
The Pavilion has some of the most beautiful areas for bridal portraits. The venue over looks a private waterway, fountain, private greenways & trails, and a gazebo that offers gorgeous areas for stunning portraits. After Maddison’s First Look, we ventured off to a few secluded areas for timeless bridal portraits.
After bridal portraits, Maddison and Bennett had their wedding ceremony overlooking the gorgeous lake at the venue. One of the most touching moments was when Maddison and Bennett included their grandmothers in the ceremony for the ring exchanges that didn’t leave a dry eye in the audience.
After the ceremony, we conducted family photos, wedding party photos, and Maddison and Bennett’s portraits.
After cocktail hour, the reception began. Bennett’s sister gave one of the most memorable Woman of Honor speeches, everyone enjoyed famous Angus Barn steaks, danced and celebrated, Maddison and Bennett enjoyed a private dance alone, and had a grand sparkler exit.
